Peter Harris brings a career in medical devices with companies such as Hewlett-Packard and GE Medical, but has found equal challenges and rewards in working at the start-up level and as a self-employed Consultant.
His BSc in Telecommunications (Wits. Univ., Johannesburg) was the bridge that connected him to Hewlett-Packard, where he quickly found an affinity with their ECG interpretation and data storage systems- gaining expert knowledge that led to his permanent relocation from South Africa to the US.

He is honored to have been the invited Keynote Speaker and Bariatric Surgery Session Chair at the International Surgery and Anesthesia Conference 2018, Tokyo, Japan.

He has found it very rewarding to be a Guest Lecturer for the University of Washington, Seattle, Department of Bioengineering for 4 years as a Capstone Project Advisor, presenting lectures titled: Market Analysis; Testing Plan – Regulatory and Investor Considerations; Market Analysis and Financial Considerations; How Does a Designer Create a Product?

Peter is an enthusiastic member of the Board of Directors of a local Community Foundation, (www.seabrookcf.org)
which makes valuable contributions to his local community. He is passionate about supporting and educating our youth and helping them succeed, as they are the heart of the next generation.

Established in 2005

I established BizPushConsulting as a vehicle to advance several nascent ideas in fields as diverse as the medical device field, the mass transit (self-driving vehicle) field, and ocean plastic clean up.
My strong bias to the  Medical Device field resulted in a long term consulting assignment (10 years) as VP Strategic to a leader in the salivary (DNA) diagnostics field, and several other clients.

My interests and experience cover pretty much all activities in the medical device arena.

A chance exposure, a prepared mind...

In a chance exposure to the bariatric surgery field, I noticed that the total adoption rate of all legacy bariatric surgeries was less than one percent of the obese population according to the ASMBS. Although uninitiated in bariatric surgery at the time, this led to my conceiving the gastric volume-reduction surgery now known as LGP (laparoscopic gastro plication), and a companion enabling device, to enable the surgeon to provide a surgically simple, safe, quick and easy surgery priced for self-pay. (See an animal lab LGP surgery on Youtube). An estimated 3,000 patients outside the US have been treated with the LGP (using the hand sutured "Talebpour" version, since the enabling device is not available for human use).
Having recently sold the associated 9 patents (Method and Device), and now with available bandwidth, I am open to taking a role as a Consultant to tackle projects where you might need support. Contact us!
